Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to emphasize the great merits
and achievements, as well as the affirmation of the Sokol
Society with all its features and registered successes,
which left a lasting mark on the spread of sport life in the
period between the two World Wars. In addition to sport
activities, they set the tone on the development of the
cultural and educational life in the city. Special emphasis
is given to the participation of the Sokol gymnasts at the
Tenth Gymnastic Festival held in 1939 in Prague
(Czechoslovakia), and above all to the unforgettable
impressions and hospitality they encountered.
