Abstract
Related to the Transitional Journalism training.
Introductory explanation of the concept of transition: emphasizing the challenges faced by journalists in transitional societies, with the special attention to the conflicts occurred in some transitional societies of Eastern and Southeastern Europe.
Presentation of a guide for war correspondents. How to be prepared mentally and physically in conflict areas; what is the necessary equipment that every journalist should have when reporting from conflict areas and how to behave and deal with conflict situations.
The role and contribution of the journalists in establishing communication with conflicting parties, dealing with misperceptions, identifying core interests, seeking solutions, educating the public and restoring trust.
Related to human rights and media training.
Presentation of topic related to human rights through a theoretical view and basic national and international documents related to protection of human rights, women, children, etc.
Explanation of how the journalist should report for topic related to human rights violations, including the methodology for preparing the human rights reports (related to women, children, refugees, court hearings, police and prison.)
Identification and discussion regarding what are the most appropriate elements for identification in multicultural society (inside the country) and how identify ourselves when we are abroad (using the national and ethnical elements)
Theoretical explanation of concepts identity, nation and ethnic groups. Description of cultural pluralism and multiculturalism and the difference between policies for multiculturalism and interculturalism.
