Abstract

Conductometry is an electroanalytical technique suitable to measure the electrolytic conductivity and to monitor a progress of given chemical reaction. Conductometry has notable application in analytical chemistry, where conductometric titrations are applied for various purposes. Whenever the conductivity (or solution resistance) in a given solution is changed, we can detect an analyte concentration by performing conductometric measurements. The major principle of so-called conductometric titrations is based on the fact that during the titration, one of the ions is replaced by the other that has different ionic conductivity. Such an event will result in an overall output in which conductivity of the solution varies during the course of titration. The principles, and the application of this technique are shortly elaborated in this lecture, which is written in Macedonian and it is suitable for chemistry and pharmacy students enrolled in undergraduate and advances studies
