Abstract

Soil diseases and pests are one of the most limiting factors for the development of vegetable production. They cause plant damages at all stages of development, from seedlings until final harvest. Their extinction is difficult and requires usage of pesticides which cause severe soil and underground water pollution. One of the ways for their extinction is the usage of physical resources through the usage of steam or solarization. Steam generators consume much energy, which greatly burdens the economic functioning of the farm, and solarization is a method which can be applied over a limited period (June-August) and over larger areas.
Short description of the realized activities:
- Public procurement of thermo-collector with a soil heating container
- Sampling of soil for analyses from 5 sites
- Isolation of pathogens on selective media
- Identification of pathogenic microorganisms
- Recording of atmospheric data for 2 different periods (11.05 to 02.06.; 12.06.-07.12.)
- Recording of obtained temperature values of the soil in a heating container
Checking for pathogenic microorganisms upon completed thermal treatment of soil samples
