Abstract

Involvement of the musculoskeletal system is extremely common in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).Arthralgia, arthritis, osteonecrosis (avascular necrosis of bone), and myopathy are the principal manifestations.
Aim
The purpose of the study is to demonstrate the complex therapeutic approach in patients with musculoskeletal manifestations of lupus.
Materials and methods
The study includes a 67 years old patient who complains of severe pain in the both arms, lower back pain and difficult movement with an orthopedic device. According to functional studies, movement in the hip bone (os coxae) is limited, especially in abduction and internal rotation and also limited movements in the lumbar region of the spinal column.Pseudolaseque is + on 30° bilaterally. The kyphosis and scoliosis of the thoracic spine are also expressed
Expressed muscular hypotrophy of the two lower extremities. The following diagnostic methods have been applied(used): laboratory examination of blood: CE, CRP, ANA, proteinogram, alkaline phosphatase; Native radiography of hip pelvis; KT of the hips; MRI of L-S on the spine and ECHO of the abdomen.Medicament and non medicament therapy(which includes preformed physical factors and funds) are assigned
Results
After the applied medicament and non-medicament physical therapy, an improvement in the patient's functional status is observed, whit reduced pain and normalized movements.
Conclusion
The proper therapeutic approach in patients with musculoskeletal manifestations and the application of complex drug treatment and physical therapy leads to positive results to the impaired functional status.
