Abstract
After overcoming of the social, economic and spiritual crisis of the Roman Empire in the middle of 3rd century, began his stabilization. Also was covered and valley of Bregalnitza river as part of the eastern half of Roman Empire. Special attention was dedicated to the security and defense of populated areas. In the Late Antique period along the valley of Bregalnitza river was done rebuild the old or have built new fortification elements which enabled greater certainty, protection and defense from enemy attacks. Thus in this process of defense and protection formed the fortifications with civilian and military functions. Civilian fortifications along the valley of Bregalnitza river essentially been of great defense-protective importance primarily because of the presence on civilians and material-spiritual treasures in them.
