Abstract
Down’s syndrome is an archetypal chromosome disorder and it is the first medical condition manifested as a chromosomal abnormality. The aim of this paper was to determine the incidence and prevalence rates of Down’s syndrome in the Republic of Macedonia during the period from 1995 to 2007 as well as to analyze all patients by gender, age, type of chromosomal aberration, maternal age, paternal age and degree of mental retardation. This is a descriptive study and the investigation was realized in the Institute of Mental Health of Children and Young Adults at the Health
