The creation of a European space for higher education is planned through the implementation of a range of purposes. One of the goals of the Bologna process is the promotion of mobility by overcoming obstacles to free movement of students, teachers, researchers, and administrative staff. The early focus is on what actually is mobility and benefits for students, we have listed some programs for student mobility and participation of some European countries. We have presented data on the number of foreign students in Spain, France, Great Britain and some countries of southeastern Europe, including Macedonia and the number of students studying outside these countries. At the end we have indicated some researches in recent years for the mobility of students in Macedonia.
