Abstract
The objective of this effort is to be shown the analgesic effect of the material ALVOGYL in situation of after extraction pain. In this study were included twenty patients (with clinical diagnosis Periodontitis chronic in the posterior teeth), divided in two groups of ten subjects, as follows:
-First group of ten typical extractions and
-Second group with ten atypical extractions (with separation of the roots).
The patients were evaluate one week from the aspect of the phenomenon of after extraction pain. At twelve patients (60%) was established after extraction pain and they were treated with ALVOGYL. At three patients of the first group (33%) and six patients of the second group (66%) was determined after extraction pain during the first and the second day, and during the third day the pain was determined at one more patient of the first group (10%) and two more patients of the second group (20%). The reduction of pain with ALVOGYL was shown 15-20 min after applying the medicine. Re application of the medicine was done at only two patients (16%) of the twelve patients with after extraction pain. Atraumatic work at extraction should be imperative in preventing complications like after extraction pain, and timely controlling the healing of the extraction wounds.
