Abstract

Diabetes type 2 is the basic problem in the diabetic science due to several reasons, such as the unexplained etiology and pathogenesis of the disease and therapy. The most important problem in treating the disease, remains the insulin resistance, possibly, due the inability to be explained, it will remain a long time in the realm of speculation and in the area of trials and efforts of the pharmaceutical industries in order to find the right therapy.
The basic method of treatment for diabetes mellitus type 2 in the countries in the world, consists of three basic steps: diet, weight control by affixing an optimal weight and regular physical activity. The oral medications should be taken at early stage when the treatment with medication is still effective. The insulin is a primary and most important mean in the treatment of diabetes as a permanent and definitely mean in treating the diabetes type 2. The new advances in medicine allow an improvement of the therapeutic options in treating the diabetes type 2 , such as the insulin pump, the gastric bypass surgery and the transplant of the Langerhans isslet.
The main aim of the project is the definition of the main reason for increasing the number of suffering from diabetes mellitus as well as determining the type of the most commonly used therapeutic techniques in Shtip diabetes center between 2005 and 2009th.
In the production of the specialized work,it is used a descriptive method for collecting and processing data in tables showing the results. 61% of all patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 treated in Shtip diabetic center are taking an insulin therapy , in which only 93% is achieved a normglycaemia condition.
The diabetes type 2 reaches a pandemic proportions in the world nowadays and the number of people with diabetes still continues to grow. Despite the development of the science and the knowledge in the field of diabetes, as well as the newer and the most modern means of treatment, diabetes remains an enigma that is difficult to handle, such as for the health workers and for people with diabetes too.
