Abstract
This paper presents the development of the geodatabase GEO-DATA using latest information technology, GIS, .NET and relational database. Geodatabase combines "geo" (spatial data) with "database" (data repository) to create a central data repository for spatial data storage and management.
Geodatabase GEO-DATA is developed using MapInfo software platform. Development of the geodatabase starts with the creation of the relational database GEO-DATA in SQL Server 2000, upgrading database GEO-DATA with SpatialWare 4.8 for accepting vector spatial data, inserting vector maps into geodatabase GEO-DATA and creation of two specialized spatial
application “Desktop Tool” and “GeoWeb” using MapXtreme 2005 and Visual Studio .NET.
