Abstract

The surface mechanisms are considered as foundational segment of protein-film voltammetry-a simple but very efficient electrochemical technique designed to probe various lipophilic redox proteins when directly adsorbed on working electrode in microgram amounts. In this work, we present the mathematics behind the surface mechanism in which reversible chemical reaction is preceding the electron transfer step. All species involved in this "CE" mechanism are assumed to be firmly adsorbed on the surface of working electrode, and no interactions of any type occur among the adsorbed species. The step-by-step mathematical protocol allows all electrochemists to understand the mathematics beyond this model. The simulation files of this mechanism, designed for cyclic voltammetry and square-wave voltammetry can be obtained for free from the Repository of Goce Delcev University, and also from: https://mjcce.org.mk/index.php/MJCCE/article/view/3273
