Abstract

This project presents the design and implementation of a simple embedded control system titled “Spaceship Interface using Arduino”, developed by Rexhep Mustafovski as a laboratory exercise for introductory courses in electronics and microcontroller programming. The system simulates a basic spacecraft status indicator using an Arduino board, a push button, and three LED indicators to represent normal and alert operational states.
The interface operates in two distinct modes. In normal mode, a green LED indicates stable system operation. When the push button is activated, the system transitions into an alert mode, where two red LEDs blink alternately to simulate an emergency condition. The implementation demonstrates digital input reading, output control, conditional logic structures, and time-based signal generation using delay functions.
This exercise provides students with practical experience in circuit assembly, digital logic design, and embedded software development. It serves as a foundational laboratory activity for undergraduate students in electrical engineering, electronics, and computer engineering, strengthening understanding of microcontroller-based control systems and event-driven programming principles.
