Abstract

The influence of diseases, weeds, pests and insects on plants imposed the need for the continuous use of chemicals, i.e. fungicides, herbicides and insecticides.
Statistical data for their consumption in agricultural enterprises and farming cooperatives in a long-term period of 25 years shows a decreasing trend.
In the five-year period 1993-1997, the annual consumption of chemical on cultivated arable land (total area) of agricultural enterprises and farming cooperatives averaged 0,92 kg/ha, and in the period 1998-2002 it reduced to 0,59% kg/ha, which is 1,6 times lower.
The paper gives tables and graphical presentations of the trends of consumption of chemicals in R.Macedonia, according to statistical data, which can be useful information for management.
