Abstract

As two-step consecutive electron transfer mechanisms are common to the electrochemical transformation of many water-soluble redox proteins and enzymes under physiological conditions, it is a real challenge to model such systems when two regenerative steps are coupled to both electron transfer steps. In this work we show how the frequency of the square-wave potential signal affects the features of both voltammetric peaks. This scenario can be used to recognize such a complex mechanism, especially when both electron transfer step occur at same potential.
