Abstract

The workshop “Teaching Tips for BEC Vantage” was organized with two aims in mind: 1. to provide information about BEC exams that is relevant both for students and teachers; and 2. to offer support to teachers in preparing students for BEC Vantage.
Participants were presented with the vocabulary relevant for specific business topics and the skills important for business people today and were advised how to develop their performance. Hands-on activities were offered so that students gain first-hand experience in carrying out business tasks and activities. They were also advised about the opportunity for them to get in addition an international language certificate during their training. BEC helps students develop cross-cultural communication skills and overall development of the students. And what is very important it has an impact on confidence levels through international certification.
Teachers were offered information on how to organize business English courses, where to find relevant materials and how to organize instruction so that students benefit from it.
