Abstract

This presentation was given in the occasion of the international conference on Cross Border Security: What News from the EU Migration and Asylum Proposals?, organized by the University of Salerno within the project on EU Enlargment Values - Western Balkans (EUVALWEB)on the 24.03.2023 on the campus of the University. The purpose of this contribution is to discuss EU's externalization policy and tools in asylum and migration towards third countries. In particular the case of North Macedonia was examined, categorizing EU's externalization policies through three different types of instruments: normative projection of norms and values, bilateral police cooperation between Member states and Macedonia, and cooperation with FRONTEX.
