Abstract

The subject of this paper is the regional development of tourism that will be discussed through the distribution of tourism and regional development programs in North Macedonia. Regional tourism development will be presented through tables that cover basic regional data for the eight statistical regions, regional development programs, tourist arrivals and overnight stays. Through the analysis, the differences in the regional tourism development in the regions of North Macedonia will be identified. For the purpose of the paper, a research methodology and secondary data sources have been used by consulting relevant literature and statistics related to tourism and regional development programs. The paper concluding remarks refer to the structure, past issues and future challenges of regional tourism development in North Macedonia.
