Abstract

This workshop was organized by the British Council, Republic of Macedonia, with the purpose of disseminating the information about the European Language Portfolio (ELP) and discussing the possibility of its introduction in the secondary school language instruction. The participants were the language advisors from the Bureau for Development of Education in the Republic of Macedonia as well as representatives of other bodies interested in the improvement of language instruction.
The objectives of the workshop were as follows:
1. to introduce the ELP, its aims, its European dimension and the benefits it offers;
2. to review the experiences of other countries with its application in language instruction;
3. to discuss the advantages of the introduction of the ELP in secondary school language instruction; and
4. to discuss the possibility of introducing the ELP in secondary schools.
