Protein Film Voltammetry of ECrevE mechanism with Reversible Chemical Step.pdf - Supplemental Material Download (518kB) |
Abstract
Two-step electrode mechanisms coupled with intermediate reversible chemical reaction between both electron transfer step are common for many redox proteins. Protonation/deprotonation, for example, is a chemical step that bridges multielectron transfer in many redox proteins such as cytochromes, redox enzymes with quinone-moieties in their structures, and also some redox proteins with transient metals. We give the readers entire working MATHCAD protocol to simulate the redox chemistry of such systems in square-wave voltammetry. In this work, we are also focused on redox proteins with inverted potentials, while we provide diagnostic criteria to recognize such systems in square-wave voltammetry.
