Abstract

Education is a complex sector where a lot of factors are mutually interwoven, and their balance leads to desired success and realization of preset goals. Education is man’s fundamental right. It provides children, young people and adults with the power to think critically, to make choices with the aim to improve their lives. Education breaks the closed circle of poverty and is the key element of social and economic development. It has to be available to anyone living on the Earth, regardless of his/her age, sex, religion, ethnicity, health, or social and financial status. Education must be characterized by a dynamically and flexibly set structure that will provide free horizontal and vertical mobility of pupils, students, and teachers, and willingness to meet the changeable needs of individuals and society as a whole. Education should also overcome the problems and eliminate the factors that cause educational abstinence and dispersal. Tradition and culture (cultural milieu), lifestyles, customs (for example, early – underage marriages) that are different in different nationalities, can have considerable impact on the educational achievements of pupils. There is significant disparity between the educational levels of pupils belonging to different nationalities. Causes and differences in educational achievements will be more concretely discussed in this paper.
