Abstract

Protein-film voltammetry is considered as an efficient electrochemical tool in analysis of electrochemical properties of many lipophilic enzymes. If we investigate the redox and chemical properties of an enzyme that have multivalent cations of Mo, W, V, Cr or quinone moiety as active centers, then the electrode transformation commonly takes place in two successive electron transfer steps. In a regenerative reaction is coupled to the last redox product of defined enzymatic reaction, we observe voltammetric patterns of so-called surface EEC' catalytic mechanism. We present in this work entire MATHCAD simulation file with all parameters relevant to the considered EEC' mechanism. This file can be used for free for everyone willing to simulate protein-film mechanisms in square-wave voltammetry. We provide also literature relevant to theoretical modeling in square-wave and cyclic voltammetry, as well many experimental achievements in this field.
