Abstract
This paper focuses on the development, definition, division and organization of conferences. In the paper the academic significance of conferences is covered, as well as the economic benefits arising for the destinations where they are held. The main goal of this paper is to review the International Ohrid-Vodici Conferences in the past seven years. For the purpose of the paper, primary and secondary research is conducted. The primary research is related to the personal participation of authors in the seven conferences, conducted informal interviews and the method of unstructured observation. The official agendas and working programs of conferences, as well as the published proceedings from the conferences mentioned, were used as secondary sources of data. The paper deals with the historical development of conferences, published proceedings and topics at conferences in the past seven years. Tables showing basic data for the international conferences Ohrid-Vodoci in the period 2013-2019, as the number of presented papers, number of authors with demographic data in terms of gender, number of countries from which the authors come from and members of the program boards are presented in the paper. At the end of the paper concluding remarks are given.
