Abstract

Here, as particularly noticeable we would point the new findings regarding the nature of the soil in Kocani field in terms of acidity, alkalinity and neutrality and the concentration of individual metals in certain types of soils and high concentrations of zinc which at certain points reach over 67  g / g Zn in the grain of rice. Then we want to emphasize the fact about the bioavailability of heavy metals, that for the first time in the area of Kocani Field was developed as a model and gave the following order Cd, As, Pb, Zn and Cu. To this we should add the numerous results regarding the distribution of heavy metals in a wide area, starting from lead and zinc mines of Sasa and Zletovo, until the mouth of the river Zletovica into the river Bregalnica near the village of Krupiste where the already mentioned significant concentrations of metals were registered. One of the most significant conclusions that can be drawn after the realization of this project is that the waters of the river Bregalnica and the soil from Kocani Field and plants (primarily rice) are contaminated with base metals coming from lead and zinc mines of Sasa and Zletovo. Bioavailability clearly indicates that the contamination has taken the third soil layer within the Kocani fields. Studies of the elements of the rare soil group indicates that contaminants have affected all spheres of studied area.
