Abstract
The need for introducing moral education as a teaching subject has imposed itself after the change in the political structure, as a result of an emergence of a new ideology. This new ideology, i.e. society transition towards democratic society in the Republic of Macedonia instigates the question how to cope with the challenges of democratic society. Civic
education emerged during this period so an empirical research has been made that shows that moral education is broader than civic education and actually comprises it.
