Abstract
European Union conducted two missions in the Republic of Macedonia through the European Security and Defence Policy, one military (“Concordia”) and one civilian (“Proxima”). Purpose of this paper is to make review of the mission and to fortify the achieved success or failure in conducting the tasks on the field. Further, the paper elaborates the case of use of NATO’s assets for EU’s missions, in which Turkey has a special role as a NATO member, but not an EU member. Lessons learned from “Concordia” mission are represented, as well as the confirmed shortages. The conclusion makes useful thought on how to improve the efficiency and capability of the European Security and Defence Policy in conducting military and civilian mission.
