Abstract
Today, almost every country in the world is faced with the biggest
demographic problem - reduced fertility. This is characteristic not only for
developing and transition countries, but also for developed countries. From
this trend are not exception neither Balkan countries, including Macedonia.
In this paper, will be made comparative analysis based on the
graphical and tabular displays of the movement of live births and
birth rates in the Balkan countries in the period from 1980 to 2013.
The analysis shows that our country is in a better position compared to other
countries, but the data for all countries indicates the need for urgent measures
to improve the situation of the birth.
