Abstract
With the exploitation of mineral resources is performed degradation and deformation of the relief and the general part of surface of the Earth's crust. Depending on the type of open pit mine, this degradation can be expressed to a lesser or greater extent, and sometimes in several square kilometers. The exploitation of mineral resources is with unbreakable link with the environment. Very often it is said that mining is „enemy No. 1“ for environment. With exploitation comes to degradation of huge areas of useful land, contamination of water, air and soil, ie those areas are change of topography, climate, change of groundwater and surface water and loss of certain species of flora and fauna and like.
Keywords: mining exploitation, degradation, recultivation, open pit
