Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to prove the antitumor effect of lectin from mistletoe extract of white Wistar rats with stimulation of immune system by increasing the number and activity of varios types of white blood cells.
Material and methods:The three groupe of mice (5 mice/groupe)was placed on the 4 day semi-synhetic diet. All mice where treated subcutaneosusly with melanoma cells. One group served as placebo control group, that is not treated with lectins and the rest were treated with ML-1 with daily dose of lectin to 1, mg/kg. The examination is worked over 9days.
Conclusion: From the analysis and results we can conclude that lectin acts stimulating the immune sysytem, performe stabilization od DNA in white blood cells, stimulate and increase in the number and activity of certain types of leukocytes. Lektin induces macrophage cytotoxity, phagocytosis, then incresing cytokine secretion in vivo.
