Abstract
Students leisure time covers the time out of the faculty obligations and learning programmes, time organized by students personal needs and interests. Contents that are used to full fill students` leisure time are significant aspect that contributes to creation of their identity and quality of life in future. This is especially important for the students of Teaching faculties as future teachers and educators. Therefore is very important to pay attention to organization and structuring of students` leisure time. Considering the importance of leisure time for proper and complete development of young persons, its conditioned by various factors of which the prominent ones are studying duties, social environment and place of living, personal habits and needs, responsibilities our attention in this paper was directed toward the identification of activities that could full fill the leisure time of students at the Teaching Faculties in Stip (Republic of Macedonia) and Sofia (Bulgaria).
The aim of these paper is determine and compare how students at the same faculties in different countries spend their leisure time, how actively they participate in sport as well as to determine the student’s opinion for the role of the Universities in organization of student’s leisure time. The research was realized on a total sample of 294 students at all four years of study, particularly 128 students at the Faculty of Educational Sciences at University “Goce Delcev” in Stip, Republic of Macedonia and 166 students at The Faculty for preschool and primary school education at Sofia University “Ss. Kliment Ohridski’, Bulgaria. The research was conducted using specially designed closed form of questionnaire, composed of 34 questions according the research aims. Obtained results were analyzed using descriptive statistics parameters, while differences among student’s opinions were tested by application of descriptive statistics as well as comparative statistics (t – test and F - test). Obtained results point out on differences between students from different countries regarded to the amount of leisure time as well as differences in offers of contents suggested by the universities. We suggest the possible directions for positive influence and suggestions for youth for proper selection of activities that will have a positive impact of completely developed young person.
