Abstract

The main topic in this paper is a treatment of the issue of the specifics of local-level design, with
emphasis on the specifics of the organization of space in the Republic of Macedonia and linkage of
values and modern design. The relations of local, regional and global level is more pronounced and
the level of recognition at the local level depends on the nature of the higher level. Expressed in
terms of processes of globalization, at the same time requires more emphasis on local specifics at
national level and the level of the immediate neighborhood, as is the case at the Balkans, within the
European space.
The wide range of possible perception of the characteristics of local level, paper elaborate some
segments of Macedonian tradition in the organization of space, from urban to internal space of the
traditional Macedonian house. Such messages are important to respect local tradition, as an
opportunity for continuity messages of tradition and their proper application in modern designs, in
this case in the modern organization of space. With the use of different segments of the traditional
messages can create various solutions and quality of organization of space, which carried vital
human activities.
