Abstract
The revival of nation and promotion of national ideology play key role on redifining of Balkan identities. The new era of modernity actueliy offers completely new standards for defining the Otherness as requirement for constructing the bourder lines between groups. While during the imerial era comunities were building a world view based on religion and servitude as universal criteria, the new conditions of the free marcet economy and sitizenship presented the new nation state as the sole alterative, and nationalism as nesessary ideology.
