Abstract
This paper provides a legal analysis of women's representation in the governance structures of public enterprises (PEs) across eight municipalities in North Macedonia, one from each planning region. It examines the interplay between the contemporary policy framework, current legislation, and reform proposals - specifically the Gender Equality Strategy, The National Stategy 2026-2031, the Law on public enterprises, the Company Law, the Law on equal opportunities for women and men, and the newly adopted Law on public enterprises and trade companies in ownership or with participation of the Republic of North Macedonia
