Abstract
Voltammetry is an essential tool in electrochemistry education, providing students with insights into redox kinetics, thermodynamics, and mechanistic pathways. Among the important electrode processes is the EC′(reversible) mechanism—where an electrochemical step is coupled with a reversible regenerative chemical reaction. It represents a valuable case for both theoretical understanding and practical data interpretation. To enhance learning and accessibility, we present a ready-to-use Mathcad simulation file that models cyclic voltammetry of the EC′ (reversible) mechanism under diffusional conditions. The protocol defines all relevant constants, kinetic and equilibrium parameters, and potential waveform features, allowing the user to generate and analyze voltammograms directly. This educational resource not only supports classroom teaching but also bridges theory and practice, enabling students and researchers to visualize diagnostic voltammetric patterns and explore the interplay between electrochemical and chemical kinetics.
