Abstract
Today, the European costume, in its undeniable artistic and technical qualities, remains the heir of its predecessor from the nineteenth century. It is from this point of view that I have formulated the purpose and tasks of this work, as well as I have achieved their solution: A review and comparative analysis of the specialized scientific literature concerning 19th-century costume and fashion in 2006 has been made. The artistic and construction features of the 19th century costume used in fashion in 2006 are explored and summarized. Those artistic aspects of the costume in the clothing of the modern man, which determine the various types of artistic and historical influences, are analyzed in a complex manner. Fashion modelers and fashion designers along with clothing manufacturers present a huge variety of stylish and modern clothes. In the process of designing them, they are based both on original principles related to the immutability of the physical parameters of the human body, and on his psychophysical needs related to the design, production, sale and use of clothing. The artist and the fashion designer, like all the other figures in the producer consumer chain, are reinventing their role in the overall design process. Communication with clothes comes to the fore, while at the same time communication with the help of clothes, falling under the so-called “non-verbal” communication becomes an important element for the modern person land even got a special term “dress code”. This is expressed both in casual wear and in strict formal and evening wear, intended for wearing on strictly defined occasions when the help of haute couture is needed. In connection with the above facts, the object of my research is the process of borrowing, reworking and applying the artistic experience materialized by the historical costume of the 19th century in the fashion in 2006. The subject of the research in this work is the European costume of the 19th century – its silhouette and construction features and artistic qualities, which makes it an object and a model for recreation in the fashion of 2006.
