Abstract

The scientific paper will first present the geographical position and size of the territory of the Municipality of Prilep. It is the largest municipality in the Republic of North Macedonia, covering an area of 1,194.44 km2. There are 59 settlements in the municipality of Prilep, one of which is the city of Prilep and 58 rural settlements. The municipality of Prilep will be presented with a geographical map, its borders and neighboring municipalities. From the most significant features of the Municipality of Prilep, the economic life in the city of Prilep and the municipality will be presented through the most important industrial branches. The main comparative values of the municipality will be presented. Also, the main tourist motives in Prilep municipality will be presented, such as:
- Natural motif tourism (relief, denudation forms, stone figures, caves, climatic, hydrographic
and biogeographical characteristics);
- Mountain tourism;
- More significant mountain trails in the municipality and the surroundings of the city of
Prilep;
- Archaeological sites;
- Archaeological sites in rural settlements;
- Religious tourism and religious buildings;
- Cultural-historical tourist motives;
- Cultural and historical monuments in the city of Prilep and the municipality;
- Festivals;
- Events and Manifestations;
- Gastronomic tourism and gastronomic specialties;
- Prilep cuisine and specialties;
- Roma cuisine and specialties;
- Turkish cuisine and specialties;
- Culturally entertaining events;
- Cultural manifestations;
- Museums and memorial houses;
- Selective types of tourism;
- Sports and sports events;
- Ambient tourist motives;
- Economic and cultural (fairs);
- Scientific and other manifestations;
- Rural tourism and conditions for its development.
All these tourist motives will be presented in the scientific paper.
