Abstract
The Painted Bird is a unique masterpiece approaching in an uncommon manner a widely treated subject – the Holocaust.
In this chapter we focus on translator’s choices when rendering ethnocultural concepts i.e., the way different nations are presented in the novel and the rendering of specific culture-based concepts into French.
