Moral Education and Teacher Character as Important Factors in the Educational Process.pdf - Published Version Download (1MB) |
Abstract
This paper rewievs the teacher’s influence on moral education, viewed from the aspect of forming the personality
of student. Focus is put on the teacher’s character (that is also reflected in its methods) which has the role of the silent
transferor of moral values. Even though today the role and social status of teacher is different from what it should be,
moral education and its character are important factors in the educational process, because in fact they are inevitable
no matter what is our attitude on them. A part of the paper treats the importance of moral education, mainly relying
on discursive framework of the philosophy of education, while the other deals with the implementation of the
methodology and practical advices about the teacher’s character. However, this paper’s overall goal is simple and
practical: to highlight the inevitability of moral education and character development in the educational process by
implementing all theoretical and practical actions necessary for this element becomes more successful and useful for
students and teachers, and also for the whole society.
