Abstract
the difference in the angle between the sun's rays and the horizontal plane. Therefore, for practical use of the sun's energy it is important to follow the exact position of the Sun.
For this project, system of two nat plate solar collectors were designed and constructed. The first was with fixed surface tilted at 300 towards the south, and the second was with two axes of rotation where the programmable chronological tracker was used to control the motion of the flat plate collector.
An experimental study was performed to investigate the effect of using the sun tracking system. The data collected was compared and it indicated that solar energy on the moving collector was sigificantly greater that the one on the fixed collector. The two axes tracking collector showed a better performance with an increase in the collected energy of up to 20,2% compared with the fixed collector.
