Abstract

Multielectron physiological systems with inverted redox potentials are very often in biochemistry. Many quinone-containing enzymes, polyphenols, thiol-containing proteins, might exhibit unusual features upon redox transformation portrayed in lower energy for the second than for the first electron transfer step. In this work, we give a detailed MATHCAD simulation file that can be explored to simulate various conditions of two-step redox mechanism coupled with follow-up reversible chemical reaction (diffusional EECrev mechanism). Readers can get benefit of this file to design a relevant methodology suitable for resolving two overlapped peaks in square-wave voltammetry by varying the rate of the chemical step only.
