Abstract
On the territory of the East Region there are several types of potential occurrences of natural disasters that can cause major or minor damages to objects and sites declared for cultural heritage or to destroy them. Only fires and floods will cause the greatest negative effects on this type of material good. All this is of great importance for the competent entities involved in the protection and rescue of the cultural heritage. The data and information on the most common possible occurrences of risks and hazards will enable the institutions concerned with this issue to take appropriate measures and activities, their effective mutual coordination and cooperation and rational utilization of the resources for protection of this material good in the event of natural disasters. However necessary are more detailed analyzes and assessments of the hazards and threats from natural disasters in this material good, which would be performed by experts in the field of culture, construction, protection and rescue, crisis management and so on. This will enable the attainment of the goal, that is, appropriate management of the hazards and protection and rescue of the objects and places declared for cultural heritage.
