Abstract

Quality and quantity analysis were conducted during the three years of examination(2000-2002) for the harmful insects on pepper in Strumica region. Seventeen species were identifies from harmful entomofauna:namely, ten species of the fam.Aphididae(Homoptera), two specieses of the fam.Thripidae(Thysanoptera), four specieses of the fam. Noctuidae(Lepidoptera) and one species of the fam.Aleurodidae(Homosptera).
The most significant species that caused damages on the pepper were Myzus persicae Sulz, Aphis gossypii Glov, and Aphis nasturtii Kalt. of the fam.Aphididae, Thrips tabaci Lind of the fam.Thripidae and Helicoverpa armigera Hb of the fam. Noctuidae.
The examinations were conducted on three localities in Strumica region. No significant differences were noticed in the localities concerning the incidence of the most significant insects species.
