Abstract
In the following paper we present three books: Musical Dialects in Macedonian Traditional
Ritual Folk Singing – Ritual Singing (2008), Map-making and Aereal Surveys in
Ethnomusicology (2009) and Macedonian Traditional Folk Singing-Chrestomathy with
Melopoetic Analysis (2012), written by Macedonian ethnomusicologist Rodna Velickovska,
PhD. The books are based on empirical material that was collected during field research in the
Republic of Macedonia from 1952 untl today. They highlight the principles of recording diverse
forms of folk music and dialects of Macedonian traditional folk ritual singing.
