Abstract

ABSTRACT: This paper examines the topic of witches in the Macedonian literature for children and youth. This is done by means of representative examples of folk and art literature. Theme of witches is a theme that comes from folklore, from where it moved in the sphere of the supernatural. This theme is also in the literature for adults, especially in fantastic literature, but the effect it causes in the literature for children and young people is quite different. There, this issue does not cause fear, despair and hopelessness, but only a pleasant surprise and wonder.
