Abstract
Summary: The paper reports on a “blended” or "hybrid" course, where a significant amount of the course-related learning activities take place in an online learning environment, making it possible to optimize the learning and teaching methodologies and the amount of time spent in the classroom for a basic IT course for non-IT students. This paper addresses the authors experience throughout the courses at the “GoceDelcev” University that were held on 11 different faculties, from 2008 to 2011. The traditional face-to-face instruction is reduced but not eliminated. Instead, active learning techniques are implemented, both in and outside the class room and are used “to supplement rather than replace lectures”. The use of an online learning environment allows for all sorts of teaching and learning opportunities and is fully integrated with the classroom learning environment.

Rezime: Ovaj rad izveštava o "mešaovitom" ili "hibridnom" kursu, gde se značajan deo aktivnosti odvija u onlajn okruženju za učenje, što omogućava da optimizujete učenje i nastavne metodologije kao i vreme provedeno u učionici za osnovne IT kurseve namenjene studentima koji ne studiraju informatiku. Ovaj rad je baziran na iskustvu koje su autori stekli preko organizacije ovog kursa na Univerzitetu "Goce Delčev" u Štipu. Kurs je održan na 11 različitih fakulteta, u periodu od 2008 do 2011. Tradicionalna licem-u-lice nastava je smanjena, ali ne i eliminisana. Umesto toga, sprovode se tehnike aktivnog učenja, kako u učionici tako i van nje i koriste se "kao dodatak, a ne zamena za predavanja". Upotreba onlajn okruženja za učenje omogućava sve vrste nastave i učenja i potpuno je integrisana sa okruženjem za učenje u učionici.
