Abstract
This paper focuses on the image of picture-linguistics as a new discipline, and its development trends and prospects. Objects of study of the linguistic-image-analysis are the images in the context of a certain language in actual use. I start from the basic question of whether and how the images “can talk” and in which relations to texts they are (see Big 2011). I try to perform a linguistic description of the complexity of creating "language-images" and argue that the images and language-image complexes represent a qualitative expansion of communicative acts. The analyze will be also based on my practical experience and the use of images in the process of teaching a foreign language with the students studying German as a foreign language as an elective course at the University "Goce Delcev" in Stip.
