Abstract

Part of the architectural heritage in Kriva Palanka region contains a rich
collection of preserved samples of rural and urban houses, buildings with some
architectural values and local features of the buildings . Due to the mountainous
terrain and inaccessible nature of rural settlements of scattered type , houses are
modest in size and interior space , but extremely economical within the system
of the family . The buildings contain a number of architectural qualities , well
preserved , many are still in function , which affects their evaluation and
perspective .
Habitats of this region are with very limited infrastructural facilities , which are
the result of economic conditions and the simple needs of family communities .
Often they are modest facilities with little usable space , located on a steep
mountain terrain.
There are optimal conditions for the development of mountain tourism ,
production of ecological food products , as well as conditions for sports and
recreational facilities . There are conditions for ecological concept of utilization
of facilities , and the transition from passive - abandoned condition in active
travel purpose.
It takes a contemporary approach to treatment and development of projects and
integration into current tourism offer , adjusted to the specific global criteria in
this area . A program is needed to adapt to the development of complexes on
the category of spa centers in combination with active mountain tourism
