Abstract

Statistical data shows that the number of tourists and lodgings in Republic of Macedonia in the last 25 years indicate to a state of oscillatory movements, with drastical decrease. So, if since 1982 until 1990 there were evidental over a million tourists with over of three millions lodgings, than in the period from 2002 to 2006, their number had been diminishing more than a half and its number is around a half of million tourists with 1,8-2,0 millions of lodgings.
Regarding the tourists and their realized lodgings, The Statistics has made an evidence and definition of the term "being a tourist", as those persons who temporarily reside in some place outside from its own permanent dwellings and if they make at least one overnight lodging somewhere in an catering house or some other boarding houses.
The paper shows tables and graphic figures of the tourist movements and their lodgings in Republic of Macedonia, in the last 25 years and also their projections about near future.
