Abstract
Intermittent HD is the treatment of choice for any type of ARF; CRRT started to develop, peritoneal dialysis is still being practiced; ARF in the ICU - late 90’s; CRRT: Western Europe 40%, North America 15%; Japan 10%.; Peritoneal Dialysis has disappeared. CRRT has become the treatment of choice for critically ill patients with Acute Renal Failure, IHD remaining only for uncomplicated ARF.
