Abstract

Monitoring of the pupil’s development in primary school performed in different ways. The most adequate form for the assessment of pupil’s knowledge during the educational process is a Grade.
Testing as an integral and necessary part of the teaching process, appears in three basic forms, depending on which stage of the educational process is applied.
Standards are structured to follow the logic of the process of assessment, but in separate areas. They are grouped into five areas: I. Planning assessment II. Selection of assessment methods and development of instruments III. Implementation of the assessment process IV. Formation evaluation V. Information on assessment findings
Teacher in determining the numerical evaluation should take into account pupils achievement in terms of remembering and reproducing curriculum; understanding / comprehension processed content, and the student's ability to interpret them in their own words; application of content learned in specific tasks with familiar and new elements in other new situations.
The assessment as the measure of all the activities and all the actors in the instruction appears as a legal basis for the final part of the process and gives legitimacy to the inclusion in the world of work.
Evaluation functions can be analyzed in terms of students - as assessment supports the development of students, and in terms of teachers and teaching - as assessment allows teachers to enhance teaching. The assessment is part of the planning of teaching and learning. Setting certain objectives in teaching and learning is an absolute requirement for effective assessment.
